This is the Nashville sister of the Nasty Women Exhibition in Queens, NYC. This is a group exhibition that serves to demonstrate solidarity among artists who identify with being a Nasty Woman in the face of threats to roll back women’s rights, individual rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and immigrant rights. It also serves as a fundraiser to support organizations defending these rights and to be a platform for organization after the Trump Presidential Inauguration in January.
The works in this exhibition will be available for sale – 100% of the sale will go to The Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition. All art is Cash & Carry.
Featured female and female identifying artists from Middle Tennessee will be exhibiting two dimensional, three dimensional, installation, video, music works and performances in response to the current social and political climates largely surrounding gender, human rights, and immigration.*
Free gallery hours are from 4-6:30pm, January 31st at The Basement East. General admission 18+ tickets of $10 for the 18+ show starting at 7pm can be purchased online beforehand at: https://www.facebook.com/events/2202799423277803/ Tickets at the door will be $15. 100% of the ticket sales will be donated to benefit The Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition.
