Art Prints
Bookbinding is my passion, and printmaking is my obsession. I am constantly challenging the limits of detail that I can achieve by carving into linoleum. I pull each print one at a time on antique presses and print on archival paper using offset lithography inks and colorfast pigments.

"Sacred Tomato"
8.5" x 11" Hand Colored Linocut Print on Mohawk Superfine
Crowing Hens Bindery (Mary Louise Sullivan), 2015
Limited Edition of 35
Vibrantly colored heart-shaped tomato consumed by sacred fires, embraced by intertwined tomato vines. The tomato is considered both a tomato and a fruit, and to some the quintessential produce of the home gardener. From bud to maturity, this "Australian Red" heirloom tomato grows in the shape of a heart, no doubt to capture our own while nourishing our bodies and agrarian tendencies.
"Sacred Tomato" Linocut is printed from 1 block onto acid free Mohawk Superfine paper in black offset lithography ink. This is NOT a digitally reproduced print. After drawing my original design onto a linoleum block, the image is hand-carved and is then printed by hand on an antique press. The image is then colored by hand using rich colorfast gouache pigments. *Because it is colored by hand there may be some variation in the coloring.
Prints are packed in celo sleeves with archival backing. Each print is signed, titled, and numbered. These prints ship flat in a stiff cardboard mailer.
